So today a couple of my friends and I headed downtown St. Paul to see Jennifer Baldwin and Christina Baldwin do a FREE opera show called Opera Demystified with the Skylark Opera…and of course it was awesome. It was the show that they usually do for students when they come to schools and it’s pretty much just like an opera 101…but Jennifer and Christina Baldwin made it really fun/funny and if they haven’t come to your school…you should get them to come (even if you think your not that big on opera) …BECAUSE….

more teens need to get into opera or at least be educated about it especially if you are a vocalist, like myself. I went to see Figaro and Don Juan Giovanni at the Juene Lune over the summer which the Baldwin sisters were in and both shows were fabulous. I understand that a lot of teens aren’t really into opera because you know, it’s old fashioned or boring or whatever but if you ever get a chance to see one you should go because they are really thrilling and you will definitely enjoy it, especially if your someone who appreciates music. Its nice to get away from poplock and droppin’ and settle for somethin’ a little classier every now and then you know? SO, If your interested in opera… Leontyne Price, Maria Callas, and Renata Scotto are some of my favorites. Leontyne Price is the woman who really got me to fall in love with opera so definitely check out some of her stuff..you never know! Well I’m out. Take care & go opera! .:Nakami:.
