Two years ago, along with about 800 others jammed into a factory-turned-performance space in Edinburgh, Scotland, I was lucky enough to catch this joyous and inventive theatrical work. I was utterly charmed and disarmed by this effusive central performer “Hugh Hughes” who wove comic and touching tales of death and transcendence, memory and regret, experience and fantasy together with live music, projections, objects and movement.

“At times, Story of a Rabbit is heartbreaking, yet such is Hughes' infectious optimism you can't help but leave feeling uplifted and happy to be alive. In fact, Hughes should be prescribed as medicine for depressives.” (Metro UK).

I hope to see you all at the McGuire Theater this coming Thursday – Saturday, May 28-30 for our drink/send-off to the season and Hoipolloi’s stellar performance work Story of A Rabbit.
