William Yang, from Australia, gave a sneak peek of his work Monday to about two dozen people at the Minneapolis American Indian Center. Yang, who shared the evening with a half-dozen Native American poets, singers and other performers, presents his full autobiographical slide show, Shadows, 8 pm Wednesday and Thursday in the Walker’s McGuire Theater.

  1. LOVED the photography show! It was
exquisite. William Yang did a monologue while another
person played an instrument called Great Island Mouth
Bow - very unique (also the flute and variety of
drums). Two large screens showed the pictures -
sometimes the same picture, sometimes a variation of
the same picture and sometimes different pictures.
Together, the monologue, music and pictures were very
effective. The landscape of Australia is gorgeous!
