It tells you something about the insight and guts of this talented and intelligent woman when she spills out why she passed on the Frida Kahlo almost-guaranted megashow... a decision that we in DC hated at the same time that we admired the guts and vision and reasons for it...

Washington, DC's loss is the Walker's HUGE gain...

Welcome to the frozen city (January 08); Olga Viso...

As a member of the Walker I believe now was a good time for a new director! Fresh ideas, concepts, communication with the urban community and suburbs' is desperately needed, at a time when museum patronage is dropping, in this town! Read statistics in the StarTribune.
You could help build an art image here. What a challenge that will be. Is Minneapolis a city of just encyclopedic museums; or a city that projects a unique art genre! Get in front of the public, through the media, like no director has done before. Be an "Art Star", a top athlete of the paint and brush team. Maybe Walker billboards will be fun at the new stadiums going up!
I am a different kind of member! I'm looking for progress. I don't leave trivial messages. I'm a retired corporate advertising art director. Having seen millions of art images; boredom has set in, so wake-me-up, get some color in your museum! Then I'll come back.
Good luck!
