PBS’ amazing Art:21 launches its fourth season tonight (Sunday) with the first episode in a series of profiles of 17 contemporary artists working on themes of romance, protest, ecology and paradox. Artists include names familiar to Walker regulars, including onetime artists-in-residence Allora & Calzadilla, current Brave New Worlds artist Mark Bradford, Catherin Sullivan (whose installation Triangle of Need closes at the Walker Nov. 18), and Laurie Simmons, who film The Music of Regret was a highlight of Women With Vision 2007.
