I faithfully read Design Observer — specifically BECAUSE they talk like public intellectuals instead of moaning into their beer about serifs.

I think that designers call them “interns” rather than “serfs.”
Feuding, feudalism, it’s all the same.

Serifs are those little pieces of eyedirt at the end of strokes in some typefaces (like Times New Roman). Otherwise I think serfdom is rather common in our industry.
But where’s the discussion about Bruce Sterling I came here to read?

No discussion. Just high praise. Although here’s a link to a talk between Sterling and Thai conceptual artist Rirkrit Tiravanija from this spring.
