I’ve often had a hard time describing The Land, but your description pretty much nails it: “It’s the hybrid of a science fiction film-set, a green design showpiece, an assembly hall, and an international artists’ squat. Plus, it’s literally powered by a water buffalo. It must be well nigh perfect if Martians happen to drop by.”
