Modern Art Notes gets on the year-end-top-10 trend with a list of the best exhibitions of 2005. Included are the Walker’s exhibition of Chuck Close self-portraits (now on view at SFMOMA) and THING: New Sculpture from Los Angeles, a show at the UCLA Hammer Museum curated in part by the Hammer’s Aimee Chang, a former Walker curatorial fellow.

Thanks for the plug. And if I’d done what I did in past years — include non-shows as list items — the Herzog + de Meuron two-fer would have been on the list.
