		<description>Well, as usual, all I had to do was threaten to unleash the collective wisdom of the New Media blog readership and the problem practically fixed itself.



(Turns out I wasn't completely rebuilding mod_perl.  Solution: set your path to pick up the correct perl, rebuild mod_perl from scratch, rebuild Apache, done.)</description>
