This week we have the double pleasure of presenting two excellent acts, Music:Baroque and Wild Bill & Cierra, for Acoustic Campfire on Thursday, June 21!
Music:Baroque, an evolving music group focused on the vocal reperatoire of the baroque period, will start the night off at 8 pm with an Aria Sing-Along! While the term aria normally describes a self-contained musical piece meant for one voice and acompanied by an orchestra, in the true collaborative/participatory spirit of Open Field many voices are encouraged to enhance these arias. So yes, we really do want you to sing along! Music:Baroque will have books with songs for choosing, or you are encouraged to bring your own too — just think of it as karaoke with piano!
Then, starting at 9pm, Wild Bill & Cierra will close the evening with a happy amalgam of chamber folk, bluegrass and country. With Bill Gamble‘s vocals, guitar and ukelele stylings paired up with Cierra Hill on violin and mandolin, what more could you possibly ask for to wind down your Target Free Thursday Night? Take a look and lis the duo performing Sweet Honey Moon below, and we’ll see you on Thursday!
