Here’s another sneak preview for September. Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s Three Times was my favorite offering at last Year’s Toronto Film Festival, and we are very excited to present the film in Minnesota for the first time. If you have seen Hou’s previous work projected on film, you have a sense of the extreme beauty and emotion he can convey with a single frame of film. Three Times is no exception. The trailer doesn’t do the 35mm print justice, but it gives a great sense of what you are in for. Don’t miss it.

Heroic Grace: The Chinese Martial Arts Film will run September 22-October 14. It will showcase ten incredible films from the Shaw Brothers studio from the 1970s and early 1980s. These films, several will be newly restored prints, will be mindblowing on the big screen. Keep your eyes on the blog for more info.
