Public Program Organizer Julie Keyeski-Rank checks in with us on Open Field and summertime
Name: Julie Keyeski-Rank
Occupation: Stay-at-home-Mom
City/Neighborhood: Minneapolis/Seward neighborhood!
Open Field Activity: Community Dance
Description: Community Dance: the art of improvisation, in both individual and group dance, is about listening to and following the body’s creative impulses; it’s about moving and being moved. We start with individual movement explorations and progress toward small group and large group creations. Throughout this process, participants are encouraged to move according to what feels right. As the work moves from individual to group, the dancers must figure out how to be true to their own movement impulses while contributing to the group dance. In this way, we dance both for pleasure and for the good of the city! (No Experience Needed).
